I was able to sleep past 7 a.m. this morning. Still, I cursed the early sounding birds yet blessed my husband for serving me coffee in bed instead of the other way around. Summer officially ended for me this morning and I was putting off the inevitable . Besides, I had a feeling that the rest of the day was going straight to hell. I was assured of this when while grabbing a handful of frozen M&M’s my eldest said to me, “I heard that you have to walk the length of a football field to burn off one M&M.” I threw the empty wrapper at her and told her, “Ok Einstein, do the math and prove it.” Ya don't mess with me and a mouthful of chocolate. Period.
School starts next Thursday. I go to the beach on Sunday for a 'working' vacation. I work and the girls and husband play in the surf for a couple of days. I'm not bitter. This was my idea. Just envious, yet proud that I can provide. Me woman!
Yesterday I had a great photo and link-fest post all prepared, but in the blink of an eye ( or the mistaken pressing of a key) Poof! It disappeared and so did my heart to reproduce it.
Instead, you get to see and read a variation.
Mister Man loves the roof of my convertible. I hope you can see the hair on it. I took this photo in honor of Amy and Melissa . May they be blessed with cats less obnoxious than Mister Man.
Next on my list of links is my friend Scott . His new book The Home officially is released tomorrow. I am going to buy his book at our local independent bookstore and hope to devoured it Monday evening. That is my goal. He also has a new Livejournal Blog so go there and get into his head.
Last but not least is a link that I have neglected to share. I took the photo below a couple of days ago while on my way to Wanda's. I crossed the Watauga River bridge and saw this:
I so want to play tourist where I live. Anyone want to join me?
