The sun sets on Hwy 194...

There_baird_2

My eldest called from college yesterday and suggested I check my Valle Crucis P.O. box. I really did try to make it to the Mast General Store before it closed, but I kinda got sidetracked. I stopped on Baird's Creek Rd to take this photo. I was gonna trash this shot because lens flare doesn't do much for me, but a photographer buddy convinced me make it a keeper. What do you think? I'm leaning on the 'not' side...

On a much more vital note: John Doe is missing. You know, this John Doe. If'n you are about and see the worthless mutt, let me know or call the Mast Store. He didn't come home last night and wasn't waiting at the Mast Store door this morning to be fed. John Doe rarely misses a meal opportunity. I'll check first thing on Friday to see if he did show up and let ya know what I know.

I think it's a keeper too. I like the sort of other-worldliness of this shot.

I think it's a keeper!
I sure hope John Doe shows up soon!

Definitely a keeper. It sorta looks like what you would see from a car window as the setting sun glares off the glass. it looks normal you know? Not perfect, just normal.

It is definitely a keeper. It sorta reminds me of how the sun would glare off the side window of your vehicle as you passed the scene late in the afternoon. It's not perfect, but normal looking you know? I liked it.

Sorry for the double post. The first one didn't seem to want to show up on your blog I did it again (slightly worded differently)
Typepad has been sort of slow for me lately and not everything gets through. I guess it's my antiquated computer.
Thanks.

I like the photo!

I hope John Doe shows up - it's cold....

Oh, I hope he's ok.

Just spoke with someone at the Store, and learned that John Doe was around yesterday afternoon. Perhaps he was courting; it was Valentine's Day!

I think it is a keeper...

Your photo is a keeper for sure! Hopefully John Doe will get hungry from all his Valentine's Day courtin' and come home soon.

I'm worried about John Doe. Did he turn up okay?

Great picture and taken right in front of my aunt's home on the hill. I have snapped a ton of pics from that same spot when I lived in an apartment on the hill. Of course mine didn't come out as good as yours.
