Life is good and, it is with that optimism that I approach each September 11th . I'll never forget seeing the World Trade Towers fall three years ago. In honor/memory of those who fell on that date I rededicate my resolve to my own declaration of independence (huh?) . I'm serious. I understand that I have freedom of choice in this land of opportunity and I understand that I, alone, bare the responsibility of my decisions, actions and happiness.
And...I am happy. I have more than I could ever want. I have a wonderful husband, great kids, a shelter and plenty to eat. I wake to see a new morning and this is always a good thing.
The photo above is a fallout from the flood. Mr.Ward found this Carp on his front lawn on Thursday morning. It is slightly larger than the brook trout that we are used to seeing in the Watauga River around these parts.
And to my cuz Jane, I tried to get a photo of the goldenrod but the cat and dog insisted that I play with them instead....kids these days :-)
