I got to visit Beech Mountain this morning and as I was driving down, I noticed the frothy clouds mingling with the mountains below. Guess what? We are supposed to get rain today. Betcha couldn't tell... Poor Ski Beech really needs the temperature to drop. There is way too much grass growing up there for the month of January.
On a cool note, my friend Michelle has started her own blog . Armed with a new digital camera, she makes a daily drive from Watauga County to Lenoir where she teaches young children. On the way to and from, she plans to share photos from her drive through some of the area's most scenic views (Blue Ridge Parkway, Hwy 321 from Blowing Rock to Lenoir, Holloway Mountain Rd, etc...)
If you can, would you please stop by and welcome her to the blogosphere?
On a personal note: This week is a big one for eldest child. She has auditions for the Appalachian Symphony Orchestra today and on Saturday goes to Big City for All-State Orchestra auditions. The sounds of the Hebrides Overture by Mendelssohn and various Sonatas for Cello by Vivaldi have been singing through the home lately. All she really wants to do is get the auditions over with so she can concentrate on playing Elgar . After all, her favorite movie right now is Hilary and Jackie .
