Our greens are getting greener around here. I took this shot from about halfway down our driveway. From this view you can see a glimpse of Broadstone Road as it winds above the Watauga River in Valle Crucis.
We are in the midst of the throws of Dance Recital mania. Youngest has been in dress rehearsals this week and last night was her first performance in the Jazz and Tap Review. Saturday we will attend her performance in the ballet 'La Fille Mal Gardee'. Last night I was just a mom. I took no photos so that I could soak her in. Sometimes I feel I miss subtle offerings when I'm looking at life through the viewfinder. Tonight I bring my camera.
But back to youngest.
Who knew that my introverted goth child could make such moves? I mean, I've seen her room and this fluid, elegant image of her owning the stage belies the everyday image that she projects. She possesses an understanding of her body that I will never have. It is a sheer joy to watch her finally be comfortable in her own skin.
Last night as husband, eldest and I watched her twist, leap and then land in a full split we all said 'Ouch' at the same time. Impressed? Heck yeah!
