I spent time in Wanda and Kay's organic garden today. I had a pleasant conversation with the super awesome gardenmaster Jeff.
He showed me several of his new plants that he was experimenting with this year--one, called a Salsify or Oyster Plant sounded extraordinary and has the prettiest spring flower. I went back this afternoon to take a photo of it, but learned that it closes up in the heat of the day. I'll have to go back to the gardens again some morning. Darn. Instead, I took this photo of a mess of chives about to bloom. The mixture of pinks and yellow (buttercups) remind me of christmas tree bulbs. I used my tiny Photoflex Light disk to bounce some warm light into the harsh shadows. I liked the effect until I saw it on the browser and something changed. Who knows?
It was quite warm up here today. Temps reached into the upper 70's. My punctatums are blooming and Harley enjoyed a romp in the Watauga River this afternoon. I have the house all to myself for a couple of hours. Scary. It is way too quiet.
