Valle Crucis-- At 7 am the fog had not yet lifted above the valley floor nor had the fogginess cleared from the head of Marie Freeman, hillbilly photographer, as she trudged down the stairwell to awaken her teenagers.
"Even though this is a morning off from my day job I can't sleep in because.. because.. oh, this is way too early for this," Freeman said as she closed the door.
But later after having scooted her children and husband out the door, Freeman seemed more amiable. She returned to the kitchen to clean up after having made an admittedly "rare weekday breakfast for her family."
"I usually make them fend for themselves...ya know, they are quite capable of smearing a bagel with cream cheese or pouring milk into a bowl of cereal. Sometimes though, I have to dote upon them a little," she said adding a wink and a smile.
Looking at a plate of leftovers Freeman wondered how she was going to dispose of the pancakes and link sausages as Harley, the family's pet dog, offered her an answer through the door.
Freeman had not yet decided just what to do with her day and walked about the house mindlessly picking up other people's crap that had been carelessly strewn around the main floor of the family's house.
"Oh I don't know. I'll probably putter around, blog a little, maybe indulge myself in a facial. I like having no definite plans." Freeman said.
But Freeman's day of no plans changed with one phone call from her husband.
"Umm, the t.v. guys said they'd be at the house around ten and I'm still waiting to give blood. Would you hang around awhile?" he asked of her.
"Umm. Ok, " was all she said.
So stuck in the house, with the tv men mucking up the living room that she had previously cleaned, Freeman drifted upstairs to find solace in her inner sanctum. Her bedroom.
At first she refused to allow anyone access to this part of her home.
"It is none of your damn business what my bedroom looks like," she said.
But after much pleading, Freeman caved in, but not without taking over the control of the camera.
"I'm only going to show you a peek because it is so cluttered up here."
With that, Freeman took a photo of her blogging space. It is apparent that Freeman has room for improvement where her blogging space is concerned...But Freeman scoffed and said, "Forget it, I'm not going to deal with that today."
