I covered a pet show in the Boone Mall today. Lots of cute animals were present, but not one could match my Harley in the Tennis Ball Holding contest. In fact, three balls in her mouth is a bore. In this photo I can tell she is tired of me taking her photo and would rather have me quicken the pace a bit and take her on that promised walk...
Still procrastinating on that big important story--but I've made progress.
I'm listening to a satellite broadcast of the Louisiana Sport Network of the LSU vs ASU game . ( I can't get local broadcast)
In the first quarter, LSU 7- ASU 0, the broadcaster says:
"I don't think that LSU expected Appalachian's offense to be this talented."
"Chevis Jackson has some new found respect for the running game of Ritchie Williams."
"Williams is a good little quarterback as are several of the receivers such as Richardson."
I'm still waiting for them to say, " But we are still so much better than ASU... "
ok--just heard it: "Yep, you are right. LSU can just about throw it anytime and any place."
Yet right before the end of first half ( LSU 14- ASU 0 ) this is said: "Williams is the best quarterback that LSU has come against since the Arizona game. Man, he is good."
So Harley and Ritchie Williams have some ball handling skills...
Second half. We are still losing 14-zip.
For the record: I place a hex on anyone who calls us 'appy state'. Sounds stupid.
So there.
He just said, "appy state" again. I'm gonna have to kill him.
After hearing that Furman lost today the commentary was:
"I can understand why they are pulling some of their starters, they (Appy State) have a chance of winning it all (Div 1-AA)
Oh I can really see that happening. They are that good."
Gnumoon is there and I am sending her some of my female photographic good karma.
File this in my personal 'Did you know this about me" trivia folder:
As I child, it was a big deal for my brother, sister and myself to visit Mike the Tiger .
New blog friends: The Dog's Breakfast Dr. Flowers and the formidable Wendy Wings . Somethin for everybody here.
**Update** I should have corrected it sooner because I know better. Appalachian State plays in the 1-AA division. Not Div. 2 as I heard the commentator say. I changed the commentators quote because he was wrong and it is such a touchy touchy subject.
