The Watauga River winds through Valle Crucis. This photo was also taken last week from the low water bridge behind Shull's Farm. Because I neglected to bring my graduated neutral density filters with me, I had to do a little 'photoshopping' . Even then, I blew out the sky in order to retain detail in the shadows. Still, I keep coming back to the color of the sky reflected in the river as well as the steam rising from the water in the back. I'm a-hunting some old inner tubes so when everybody in the house gets put back together, we can dip our toes in the cold water and float downstream....
