Grass seeds sparkle when backlit. Pretty as they may be, they are hardly a welcomed house guest. Their appearance in our yard doesn't exactly surprise me though...it hasn't been mowed in a while. There are numerous signs of neglect around our home. The grass is sprinkled with doggie doo doo landmines. The weeds in the garden out-number the wanted plants 1000-1. And, the door to the closet which hides our dirty laundry, no longer shuts. All are the results of fallout from three weeks of graduation frenzy. But yesterday Youngest graduated from high school. She ran across the last night and grabbed her diploma before some punk administrator dare declare it null and void. The insanity in our lives is over for now. Today, while Youngest begins the rest of her life, her father and I commenced in picking of the the pieces of our own.
