I'm digging the reflection of The Rock in Armanti Edwards' helmet, but more so, the intensity mirrored in his eyes as he led the team on the field during today's game against South Carolina State University. We won in a tough and tumble match-up, 20-13. There is no doubt that QB Edwards entered ASU a leader, but will leave a legend as Ron Green so poignantly describes in his Charlotte Observer article. Edwards has an artistic flair on and off the field. And I've had the honor to witness both sides as he was an intern in my office this summer and of course, I've watched him play for the past four seasons.
Sure. I could gush more about Armanti's many achievements but many have done that better and many more will do so after he leaves Appalachian State. I'm just counting myself lucky to have witnessed his magic. If you have not seen him play yet, be sure to see Appalachian play next weekend in Richmond against the Spiders. It is gonna be one heck of a game....
