I took a winter walk through the woods near my home this week. Harley was my steadfast companion. We found numerous human artifacts and we would like to share a few with you.

From a distance

From a distance

This is the first view of the cabin seen from the forest's path.

A pail in a pile of leaves

A pail in a pile of leaves

I found this pail in a pile of leaves. Duh.

Source water

Source water

I didn't need no stinkin' divining rod to find an easy source of water for the cabin. Most of the pottery shards and jars were found uphill from here.

Spooky cabin

Spooky cabin

Occasionally I got goosebumps while crawling around the homestead. Don't know why...

An Appalachian Monolith

An Appalachian Monolith

This second chimney so close to the house befuddles me.

On the path to the house...

On the path to the house...

There is quite a bit of evidence that this homestead is visited by 4 wheel drive vehicles, both large and small... so I am not alone in my find.

Harley

Harley

She walks gently, but carries a big stick.

Harley isn't afraid of witches or ghosts...

Harley isn't afraid of witches or ghosts...

Harley stands guard in case a rogue bear or witch comes after me. Be afraid, be ver afraid of Harley.
